What a whirlwind! Just four weeks ago, we had the pleasure of gracing The Makeup Show's annual Makeup Shop in the vibrant city of New York. As a budding business, this marked our first appearance, and oh, what an entrance it was! Let's dive into the glamour, the grind, and the pure magic that unfolded.
A First, But Certainly Not the Last!
Being a vendor at such a prestigious tradeshow was a milestone for us, and trust me, it's the first of many to come! While the sales may not have hit the roof, what we achieved was even more precious—traction and brand introduction to many enthusiasts. The response was nothing short of heartwarming, with many of you interacting with our affirmation wall. One of my favorites was "Everything meant for you is already yours."
Stars of the Show Steal the Spotlight!
Our upcoming signature perfume and the Like Skin Brush Set emerged as the stars of our showcase. Enthusiasts couldn't get enough of the tantalizing whiff of the upcoming fragrance and the luxurious feel of our brush set. The buzz and excitement around these products were music to our ears.
Building Lifelong Connections
Our booth was graced by other remarkable small brands that resonated with us. SydRo & Co., a black-owned soy candle and home fragrance haven, filled the air with many scents. My favorite was the captivating scent of their Escape candle. Picture hints of sea salt, ozone, jasmine, and tonka bean—an absolute delight! VOYD by Lisa Catherine brought innovation with patented smart mirror handbags. Brandon Tucker, the National Events Manager of Beauty Barrage, was a gem of knowledge for growing and large brands.
Support from Icons and Industry GOATS
Blessings and support rained down from industry icons and peers. A heartfelt thank you to Danessa Myricks' brand and team, the incredible Ashunta Sheriff, and the impeccable coordination of Johanna and the Makeup Show staff. The behind-the-scenes efforts didn't go unnoticed, and we're immensely grateful for the seamless setup and overall experience.
And a special shoutout to James Vincent, a makeup artist and beauty expert, whose influence on my career has been immeasurable. From my beauty school graduate days to now, his inspiration has propelled me to new heights.
